As well as our friendly champion alpacas there are lots of other fabulous animals that live with us at Liberty Hill Farm.
Members of the British Angora Goat Society, we have a lovely (and naughty) herd of around 25 Angora goats which includes breeding females/does, kids, 2 bucks from our founding pedigree champion Corrymoor Galileo and castrated males. They have beautiful fleeces that we turn into yarn. From time to time we do sell some of our Angora goats so please get in touch with us if you are interested.
Not quite an Angora goat, but adorable and there’s a story to share with you about how he arrived with us that involves a slice of toast and some broken glass…
Cream Crested legbars (lay blue eggs), Light Sussex, Rhode Island Red and some rescue battery hens. Eggs are in plentiful supply at Barnacre Alpacas, Liberty Hill Farm!
Runners and Aylesbury are usually in the alpaca shed or the yard…
The UK’s finest fleece primitive breed of sheep. We will introduce you to Galaxy, our brown tup/ram, the ewes/girls and the lambs. We have a flock of around 50 Shetland sheep and some are for sale if you want to get in touch with us.
Scottish blackface sheep
Wesley (our ram/tup), lots of ewes/girls and lambs. A traditional hill sheep and very at home here at Barnacre Alpacas!
The lowland sheep
Some real characters here! Don’t leave any food about because they will eat it!!! We have around 30 lowland sheep which are Jacob/texel crosses and pure texels.
